SARA-OBS

An observational study

SARA-OBS was an international observational study that set out to characterise sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity in community-dwelling adults aged 65 and over at risk of mobility disability. With no drug and no exercise programme, it tracked physical performance, body composition and quality of life over six months, across sites in the United States, Belgium, Italy and France. Sponsored by Biophytis and coordinated by Prof. Roger A. Fielding (Tufts University), it characterised the natural course of the disease and laid the groundwork for the interventional trial that followed, SARA-INT.

BlueCompanion's role

BlueCompanion built and ran the study's eClinical infrastructure — the mysara.eu portal, the electronic Case Report Form, and data capture and reporting — and migrated the entire study, data and design, onto its CleanWEB-based CLIP platform, integrating the ePRO questionnaires and the ADAMO actimetry device.

Continued in the interventional trial, SARA-INT
